Travel

Well I leave Sunday, so in 6 days. YIKES! Well I wanted to give you a mighty selection of things you can pray for. But let's listen to what ever God is laying on our hearts.
Prayer suggestions, I will be traveling for 2 days I fly to London over night (pray for sleep and safety). Then a day in London and then another overnight flight to Johannesburg, South Africa. Then a few hours in the airport and on to Mozambique. Things you can pray for: I am still needing to read books for my school before I leave. And fitting these supplies in to the weight limit of the baggage. Protection over me and my belongings checked and unchecked. Arriving safely. Sleep on the flights, peace, great prayer time with the Lord. And what ever eles you feel lead.

SOME GOOD UPDATES. I got my visa! Yeay! I gathered supplies and gotten international health insurance, etc. checking off many to dos on the list.
Well that is a progress report.

I am blessed to have people joining me in this journey in prayer and support.

Inspirations I like, May they bless you as they have me...

A prayer written by Tiesa Miller (an Iris rep.)
May the reality of His harvest and glory ruin you for anything less. May the blessings of simplicity and being poor in Spirit continue to take you lower still…yet higher and higher in Him. May His words of divine purpose spoken, so the appointed time, you may run.

From a person describing there time in Mozambique…

While there, we have caught the simplicity of the Gospel. We will now preach not only from what we have been taught and heard, but from what we have seen. We can remember our first week in Mozambique, our outreach to a village with Heidi where we saw two deaf children hear, a mute child speak, and a blind man see. We saw Jesus in the dirt.

The purpose of the school, from the school leader.

Matthew 9:36-38: Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the labourers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into His harvest.”
God was on a mission when He sent His Son from heaven to earth to save you. Now that the harvest is ripe, God is calling forth a new breed of missionaries, a generation of laid-down lovers who will run into the darkest corners of the earth, call in the outcasts, bring in His Bride and compel the poor to come to the wedding feast. For revival has a face. . .You can see Jesus in the eyes of the dying, the broken and the lost. He came with ceaseless love for both the one and the masses. Now we must do the same: stop for the one but believe for the multitudes. We are called to carry His glory. First, we must lie down so that whole nations can come to Jesus. We invite you to come and be trained on the field.
Live, love and learn from the poor:
Attend a mission school with African pastors, leaders and students
Be directed by Lesley-Anne Leighton, Founding Director, and other international ministers and missionaries
Go on overnight evangelistic outreaches
Gain understanding of how to minister cross-culturally
Get practically equipped for the physical challenges of developing nations
Live with a company of abandoned, holy and whole-hearted lovers.
Purpose of Holy Given

Prayer request 2

So I have sent off for the Visa, please pray for that to go through in time, and smoothly. I am still getting insurance figured out so that is another to pray for. And I am just wrapping up everything here before I go. I am also packing up my childhood home before I leave.Prayer there of getting rid of useless things would be welcomed. Of knowing what is holding on to this earth and what things I should keep. There is a never ending list of tasks, so I pray and you can also that The lord grant me the time and the focus to get it all done. I am going to need His help.

I guess I feel a bit weird sharing all these requests and needs. It feels like I am always talking about me. Not the most fun for me. But I am trying to lay it all out there, the information, if you feel compelled or led to be involved I am excited. I thank you. During the summer please keep me updated on your lives as well. It is a great thing to get updates from home, Believe me!

Needs

I am still collecting donations and I am still raising money, but excited to see what God will do. People have given generously to this cause. And I am excited to see them be used by God. And the impact it will have. We are blessed to be a blessing. :)

Donations people have given: CAN BE USED ITEMS
  • a cell phone
  • tent
  • crafts (for the kids at the orphanage)
  • sewing supplies for women learning working skills.
  • first-aid kit (for me and those around who need it).
  • a pillow (to leave there)
  • sippy cups ( for the little ones at the orphanage).
  • sheets, boys shirts
Ask God how He would like you to be involved. Ask your kids how they can participate. This can be a fun task, of connecting to a place half way around the world and knowing that you helped out. God doesn't judge the size or amount, yet the heart behind it. If a kid wants to give his favorite crayons, you better believe that puts huge smile on the Lords face.

So far, for me, I am getting my supplies ready such as antibiotics, and many other things that might be handy in this foreign land. Thanks for reading. -B

See where I will be

At the bottom are some videos from others who have spent time with or work with Iris Ministries. I thought you all might like to actually see what it's like there, where I will be.
Instructions: No worries I will explain. Okay, click on the picture and then scroll to the top because the video will play at the top of the blog. It's that easy.

Prayer requests

Well someone pointed out that this would be a great tool for letting people know how to pray. So I thought I would begin using it.
For the right now prayer: I am defiantly getting hit with challenges from Satan. So pray how you feel God leading you to pray in that. But it will be much appreciated.

As for while there:
  • Sun protection
  • Spiritual bug repellent
  • Malaria protection,
  • Protection for a long list a diseases that can be contracted from human contact, foods, water, bugs etc.
  • Again spiritual protection as far as witch craft and spiritual warfare a very real thing I will be facing there.
  • Physical protection.
  • Protection, and peace in my travels.
  • For good sleep
  • Help with coping with the new surroundings and elements
  • Adaptation to lack of modern convinces
  • For my faith to blossom, and grow in enormous ways, and that I am like a sponge in soaking up what I am learning.
  • That my mind does not block my heart (God speaks to our hearts more than our minds it seems).
  • That God would be everything I need.
Again those are my thoughts but you pray how you feel led.

Prayer for my church:
  • that they will be learning, and that God is teaching them some of the same lessons I will be learning.
  • That their faith will grow enormously this summer also.
  • That we will learn to seek God more, and more.
  • That we will learn of His strength and limitless power.
  • And that we will see Him move in our midst.

I am sure I will think of more, thank you for your prayers. And for being involved and holding me up in this way. Thank you, thank you, thank you :)

What is it that we seek, comfort, the comfort of feeling we are right or affirmed. That we have it figured out. Where do our ideas come from? From society, or from The Lord. I just keep asking my self these questions, of what do you believe? Is it because someone told you it was that way or because you have sought it out for yourself and found truth. Do we take the Bible at it's word and actually believe what's in there. It would be a bold leap! But that's the funny thing about belief when you chose to believe in something you are choosing not to believe in something else. Just some questions...

Communication

Well, Here is my new Blog, Welcome. I have created this to keep in touch with all you fine folks while I am away. I will be in Mozambique, Africa for 3 months this summer, (it will be winter there). I will be attending a ministry school this summer (Holy Given School- HG5), learning about ministry, leaning on the Holy spirit, doing Evangelism, and lovin on kids. Why there? All I can say is God has plans for us and He has made it clear for me to go and the rest I will find out along the way. I hope this can be a place to share my experiences along with my thoughts. Again I will be learning many new things and watching God work in new ways. So this may be a turbulent ride. I pray this will be a place that keeps you informed of wonderful things God is doing but also poses questions for you to seek out answers. Chao for now.
