UPDATES:
Well India is just around the corner.. a few days away. We have been traveling and speaking at churches before we leave. In hopes to encourage, share more about missions. It has been a blessing to me to meet other brothers and sisters in the family of Christ! My own mother asked "So why are you you going to India, what are you gonna be doing?" I LOVED MY simple answer. "Because they don't know about Jesus. We're be sharing Jesus." It's that simple. LOVE IT

Humilty

I was marveling at the way God chose to send His son to us in this Christmas season. How He humbled himself to come to us, to be willing to float around in a womb for 9 months alone, when you are the creator and king of the universe. This has been a season of God showing where I can grow in humility.

Anyways I was also thinking about Hos God has been teaching me about humility during my discipleship training school. It is a good thing, not always fun but so so needed. I found my self relating the donkey in the Christmas story. As God can use the humble. I have been learning to lay down more of myself, my life, my rights to Him. The relation to the donkey.... Well if you were to ride a donkey, you would want one that was humble that could be steered and is yielded to it's master, obedient to any command and not obstinate. That rider can do so much more with that Donkey, than one who won't listen or is concerned with his agenda verses the riders agenda.
I can say this is a first I have related to the donkey in the Christmas story.

I hope this Christmas season comes alive for you, and God shows new mercies to you.

Youth with a mission is going great. I have loved learning, our ministry outreaches around town and most of all speaking in to he girls lives here in the class. This is discipleship and so exciting to be able to love on these girls and grow in Christ together. The class was mix of 20 somethings that have not all had easy lives. Some were coming out of some very hard stuff and here at DTS have been finding their identity in Christ, and learning to fallow Him. I am so excited to be a part of this. My heart thrives in seeing Christ renew people's hearts. He is the hope of glory after all.

We are all heading out in January to encourage some church in the USA about missions. And then to India. I am so excited to be in the slums of India loving on kids, doing open air preaching, and encouraging some women groups. And much more. WE are all excited to share about God to a land that is prevalent in the Hindu religion. I am sure it will be humbling there too, as upon arrival buy a our clothes in India to be culturally appropriate, wear no (very little make up, must have hair up or braided, and no jewelry). I am excited to be streched in new ways for Christ sake.

Philippians 3:7-9

⁷But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. ⁸Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. Ministry in YWAM UPdate

So one of the major reasons for my transition was more ministry opportunities. And many Has God blessed it!
So this is my small group above. Cute little bunch aren't they! We are going through training together and learning. We also have the opportunity to process the things we are learning and being challenged with. I have loved getting to know these girls and speak into their lives as they do mine.
We also make it a priority to be praying about the Nations. We recently were able to use this huge world map to help us focus on the WHOLE world. IT WAS SO COOL.
I love to see us becoming fervent on seeing the world flourish and be blessed with Christ.

Another cool update is that we get to do local outreach here in Lou. This one of the joys of my time here. It is not one of the nicest neighborhoods yet never ceases to suprise me. As we were walking my friend ( in photo) asked "you want to talk to that guy" I thought No. (am shy too folks). and He was TALL!! But we did. It turned out to make my week. We encouraged Him, he had knowledge of the bible, but he is still struggling to walk out what he knows, but we were excited to get to know one another and pray together. You can continue to pray for him.

Just before that.... we were able to pray for a lady who was in visible pain in her back , legs, hips, and numbness in her feet. We prayed over her, not once but 3 times. Eachtime it was getting better. The last time she was stomping her foot saying " I can feel my feet! I can feel my feet!' then She bent over streched and touched her toes, where before she could barley wiggle in her chair without pain. I loved begin a part of God's offering of healing.

Last great update . I don't have a picture. We had some time to do some evangelizing. While we walked around and offered to pray or talk with people. Some were not open and some were. But I got to pray with a Young girl maybe 20 years old. To revive Jesus and her savior and forgiver and start to walk with her creator!!!

SO that is a bit of ministry with YWAM Louisville! It has been a blessing and encouraging walk alongside the other people I get to do ministry with.... See their blog.

Transistions

Many of you know but just in-case. I thought I should cover my bases. And share about the changes that have taken place in the last little bit. Moving? Well for sometime I have felt God continueing to call me into more hands on opportunities for ministry instead of just a support role. To spare you all the details God has been speaking to me about Youth With A Mission or commonly known as YWAM. So my summer and fall have been jammed packed in talking with GO about my transition, finishing up project for them. GO said they saw in me the calling to be involved in ministry more. So they blessed my transition which was an answer to prayers for me.

I started training with YWAM mid September, this involved me moving in to their housing and doing discipleship training. It has been good, stretching, and as always new things to adapt to. I am excited about what God is showing me and preparing me. He is so faithful. A group of us are in Louisville but doing training and outreach around Louisville throughout the week. I am doing ministry and still utilizing your generous gifts, God is using them to make things possible.

As part of our overseas-outreach we are also going in two groups - one to South Africa and one to India. I am in the India group. Defiantly be praying God's grace for me as spicy food is not my idea of fun. BUT I am soo excited about working in the slums, what an opportunity to share Christ.

I will share some other updates soon from our local outreaches ect.

Realities of the day.

Well I guess I forgot to mention I am home and my travel went well. God definitely provided key people for me while in China to help me find my hotel ect. He is good like that! :)
A re-cap:
Mongolia- was a good trip. We were able to help the organization there by using our skills. I mine in design and photography. Below is their blog re-designed. It needed some love so I updated everything and added some key features and information.

But also I went to gather information for G.O. Ministries. As they didn't have much in way of photos or info. And from literally across the world you can imagine the challenges. So I was able to gather photos of the ministry, people, daily life, documentary like, potential future projects, and people involved in ministry.

While there we had many unique experiences also. Frogger was a dailylife sized game in traffic. Eating out could pose to be quite tricky, eating in could be also for that matter. Sleeping in a Gar (a yurt, a round house/tent that is movable), maybe you have seen them before in pictures. We got to see a bit of the vast country side. We got to love on the ladies who have come out of prostitution. We also had the opportunity to encourage them and share our walks with the Lord, and laugh with them.

We also found an impromptu rock climbing opp. Which I loved. And it was good for one of the Ladies to try something new and really test her courage and challenge the fear of something new. I think God had that planned all along. :)

Romania was my stop on my way home. It didn't' cost me any more with my ticket !!! YIPPEE on that! so I got o visit a dear friend, and meet some new friends in ministry who are reaching out to the untouchables and forgotten in that country. What a privilege. I was able to use my skills for them also. By gathering some photographs they can use to tell about the work God is doing there.

Well last night as I was reading my bible. I was tired and flipped it open and it fell to Corinthians. I was like yeah Let's read 2 Corinthians So I start at 1:8-11.

⁸ We think you ought to know, dear brothers and sisters,^[b] about the trouble we went through in the province of Asia. We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it. ⁹ In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead. ¹⁰ And he did rescue us from mortal danger, and he will rescue us again. We have placed our confidence in him, and he will continue to rescue us. ¹¹ And you are helping us by praying for us. Then many people will give thanks because God has graciously answered so many prayers for our safety.

While I would not say we are mortal danger... you never know what could happen anywhere in the world. whether in the US or elsewhere. But I know God protects! But it was sooooo appropriate, God does have a sense of humor. hehe. Well He makes me laugh at least. But thank you for your prayers. I have to see a man about a jet lane today. I have another stop before I am back in the US. Romania to help another missionary friend for a few days. The stop didn't cost anymore on my plane ticket so I took the opportunity to help her out.

Asia ... we did have our challenges here. and rubs with the cultural differences. It is as always a reminder to rely on God. Traffic here is insane since no one thinks the rules applies to them. Which create pure chaos. So our daily walks were always interesting. I won't share every detail or challenge with ya... but Know that just as Paul wrote- thank you for praying for us. God has used those prayers!

God is alive mighty and well. since 1995 there were non existent Christians or extreme few. Now there are about 80,0000 in this land. Buddhist and shamanism are the strongmen here. But God is reclaiming His people as they see, He is the prince of peace. Peace is something that is wanted and truly sought after in this land. A land of warriors, nomads, and average people trying to get by everyday. I have had the privileged to hear stories of how people felt so dark and hopeless and were drunk and violent, or living on the streets or working on the streets... and more. ... and how they each shared that they wanted peace. And they saw that when they became a christian they had peace, their life was not dark and they have come out of prostitution or stopped drinking and fighting and the joy on their faces now and their lives changed.
Anyways... I'll stop rambling. It has been great to see The true saving grace that Only Jesus can bring.

Prayer walk and a visit to a Buddhist Monastery.

A long day in the car. We found a heard of Camals.

They went to visit and speak with the street workers. I stayed back to get some pictures. Incognito, or at least I tried to be. T'was an interesting night. We are collecting interesting experiences.

We have also had some journey's at the Grocery store. Ram's head, Horse meet, hearts belonging to who knows what kind of animal. I will spare you those photos in case you get queezy.

Today was good. but I had to have myself a good cry. I was feeling homesick and then frustrated with ASIA culture clash has to happen to everyone at some point. grrr.

But the cry was because I heard a girl's story today. and She is dyslexic, she is now 27 or so... She failed 1st grade 2 times and her father took her head and slammed it in the table repeatedly and saying "You are so stupid, you are so so stupid. You are so stupid." And he pulled her out of school. She had a abusive family and was told "go get money to bring in to the family, do whatever you have to do" implying prostitution. That is the beginning of her story ... I think more abuse was to fallow.. she ended up in prostitution... but present day she is at the Project where she is tryign to leave that life and working and learning about the Lord. I am leaving out tons. but... anyways. It just hit me so hard. That poor girl... and how I struggled in school, how it felt. But I had a mom that was my advocate and helped me. How it feels to struggle... and feel like you can't do it. For her to grow up and think she is unloved. It just hit me in such a personal space today. I can't convey the words. The missionaries at the center said they banned the words "I can't".

We all have those moments where it clicks.... a piece of the pain someone is in or has walked through. I think God allows that, as a gift. I have to assume God does this on purpose. The verse in Galatians came to mind. To bear one anothers' burdens.

I have been helping get some graphics together for the Ministry. One of the lines in their brochure is - "Little girls don't dream of growing up and becoming a prostitute. Many are abused and desperate looking for work." I don't' know that I consciously thought about the path one might take to arrive in such a life before this trip. But I know Streams in the Desert are working amongst hard situations, restoration of broken lives is no fast process.

The amazing part is that these women are seeing their lives changed by Christ. I have heard over and over "Her life is completely different now!" They tell me their testimonies, and one was saying I was searching for peace, my life was awful. NOW I have peace. They are still learning, as we all are... but you can see when they speak of their new found peace, it is tangible. It is so yummy. The goodness of OUR God. In land of Buddhism. Yet peace is found in the saving grace of Christ. It is an amazing thing to see, hear and feel. Good night to all.

yeah... I am not a New Yorker. We are on 6th floor walk up.... I am getting my cardio.

320 days of sun... bet you didn't know that.

IF ever you get frustrated about America, know the words to that song ring true, America the beautiful. This is the seance most places here and in many countries I have been to.

They seem to really take care of their cars here. I have been asking lots of questions to grasp more of their mindset.

Mongolia was ruled by Russia from the 20s to the 90s, I believe. Their architecture is every where. To me it seems odd. the simplicity. But I know it speaks to the mindset.

It is supposed "the land of the big sky".

The Ministry here is making mittens and jewelry and leather goods to sell. This helps to create jobs for many who would otherwise resort to prostitution to earn a living.

The kids are the cutest.

Cyndi brought some shoes for the kids here, donated by a school at home. the moms where quite happy.

Yeah this meat sat there for awhile. I am pretty sure we ate it for lunch but I kept passing the kitchen and it was still there. One of many differences of people and places.

Well I find myself across the world literally. I am in a land that is foreign to me and to you. Before I left on this trip to be honest I was nervous and worn out and the day prior, I was flat out wanting to stay home. Where things are predictable, safe, and easy. But when you are tired you don't think straight. But after my feet were on new soil my heart got excited and revived. SO I spent a night in Beijing. The Lord provided a girl who spoke English to help me find my shuttle. Then off to Mongolia. I am running on a weird sleep schedule. Mongolia is 12 hours ahead of EST. I was picked up by the missionary we are visiting and a national who has a great sense of humor and always joking. We kinda got a quick tour just getting across the city from the airport. The city has about 1 million in Ulanbattor (an I am sure I have misspelled that). There is only a like 3 million in the whole country. The people have Beautifully round faces, the babies are even cuter, but babies are cute everywhere right. I guess I share all this just share my first few thoughts. God always warms my heart to the people, and I am excited to see do and learn more while there. I will try to update more in a while. Thank you for your continued prayers. Dios eterno!

Well as I write this little note, I am craving a hot chocolate with hazelnut. Why do I mention that random fact? Well as I am craving this I am thinking about where I will find myself in a few weeks. Doubtfully able to get any hot coco. Some of you know and to some it will be news. Cyndi (another G.O. worker) and myself will soon be in new territory unknown to us, and unknown to the majority of Americans. In fact when I mention it to people they have this dazed look as they are trying to mentally place the geographical location. I never imagined finding myself there, but as the old yet well known saying goes…. "If you want to make God laugh tell Him your plans." So we are heading to MONGOLIA. For a few weeks. Yep Mongolia. While I find myself rubbing my eyes wondering if this is real, there is this other side of me that is so excited. I am get teary eyed to think God has given me the privilege to do this work.

So in a about 2 weeks (give or take a few days). We will embark on yet another journey. I will be an adventure for sure since I don’t know the language. I can usually hold a conversation with people where I have been. So to have the ability of speech taken away and in uncharted territory will leave me with great need for HIS presence. I have an overnight in China by myself. I would love your prayers for this.

By now you are probably wanting to know why are we subjecting ourselves to this. Well one – Because of my savior. That He may be known. And two- we are going to help as G.O. Ministries has been partnering with a YWAM missionary in Mongolia. They are helping prostitutes and recovering alcoholics find other ways of supporting their selves. As they are recovering and coming to know Jesus they are also teaching them skills to help make a living by new means. They are teaching jewelry making, sewing and maybe knitting. We get reports back at our home office, and some pictures of the ministry happening there. While the missionaries do a great job, there is still a need for more of the stories to be told.

So if you remember my time in Haiti last year, I tagged along while others did accountability with pastors, I was able to capture the life, ministry and culture we saw. We have used those pictures through out this year in ads, banners, website, and other pieces. They have allowed us to tell the story. A friend in Brazil once said, “She tells great stories you gotta listen,” referring to me. I thought, SAY what!??? But I do find myself telling stories all the time. These stories in Mongolia have a fire behind them. The lives of the forgotten, or unloved motivate me like no other. I think it is that sense of justice, that demands they be heard.

SO I am going because there is so much more to tell. These are our brothers and sister in Christ, who are soooooooo precious to HIM. The end goal is that we will be able to represent in a better fashion the ministry taking place. We will be able to pray by being more informed, and connect through the photographs taken. This will help to share the story with others to allow connections in ministry to be made. Along with gathering information, and photographs we are paving a new path. My co-worker in the office likes to refer to us as guinea pigs. G.O. has plans to send a team next year, so while there we will be gathering information, testing the waters, figuring out some logistics on how we can avoid any pitfalls for a upcoming short- term missions teams.

Cyndi will be helping with products being made. As these ladies are making jewelry, and the men are making wallets. Cyndi will be working on logistics and such. Honestly I don’t know all that goes into that side of things. I am sure I will be able to tell more soon.

So some prayer requests:

We are supposed to go Camping up in the mountains while there to see the country side and people in outer areas. Here is the email I received:

Hey guys here is a real prayer concern as far as our big plans to go way out into no where Mongolia.

Right now there is a big dispute between Russia and Mongolia. Russia supplies 90% of Mongolia's gasoline and diesel and for three years they have lobbied Mongolia to allow them to build Russian gas stations but Mongolia has said anyone supplying over 30% of a product can then not also sell it.

So a month ago Russia said ok, then we will cut our supplies to Mongolia to 30%.

So now there is a fuel crisis. It is not so bad in the city but to try and do a huge trip, well that is another story. So please pray this resolves soon.

Another prayer request is that my over night in China goes smoothly.
That we accomplish what God has planned for us.
And on my way back I am stopping off to help a friend in Romania, so prayers for that also.

So why the title Dios Eternal. I thought it fitting, As no matter where we find ourselves, home or in a foreign land, or foreign environment. One thing is comforting to know that never changes. The eternity and stability of GOD. Dios Eterno = Eternal God (in Spanish).

This is one of those songs I love in Spanish as much as English. I post it as, it is fun to praise God in another language, since He speaks them all. "His light will shine when all else fades"- a line form the song. share it with your kids.

Work and Re-Work

Well G.O. is in full swing for summer season with teams coming down to do ministry, we are also preparing to do conferences where we are bale to connect with more people about ministry. So I am re-working designs to make the fit for the next conference. So others kinda cam up iwth tconcept it was my job to make it work with what we had already done. There is always a new challenge in telling the story of ministry.

Easter - Death, Burrial & RESURECTION

I thought I would share a song with you that I have found. It seems so appropriate for the season we are in. It's spring where Christians celebrate how God took the punishment, absorbed the wrongs / costs of others and paid for them. There is so much different language used to describe what was done, and I guess that is what words are for.

But I heard this song and it stuck with me. I thought it said "come and drink this blood which you can not afford." But it actually says "this love which you could not afford". The word afford is the one that caught my attention. I have heard things explained, in terminology of ransom, and other words - terms that aren't too overly common in today's time and language. The word afford hit me as I was driving down the road, I could relate. As there are lots of things I can't afford. I can't afford a yacht, or a big fancy house or a Lexus or whatever you put there in the blank _______.

It says to me I have limits of what I can do. If I can't buy it, that is my state of being. So the words "Come drink this love which you could not afford", resonated. Someone did something for me which I could not do for myself. Sometimes I think we grow weary of mercy and grace. Or a better term would be that we grow numb to there concepts.

So this word afford woke me up to there concepts again. Nothing in my power might, strength, will, level affluence, intelligence, can remedy the payment needed. Yet He did it for me. A true gift- that cost something, and was wanted to have been given.

We build up to Christmas and so I have wanted for years build up to Easter. I made one of the best purchases ever this year. It is an advent calender used for Christmas and for Easter. It has build my anticipation and set my thoughts to be reminded of what happened on Good Friday and Easter Sunday, helping me count down. I kind wonder if this is what it feels like to be pregnant, counting down to giving labor (anticipation of pain, eeekkkk). I look at it and am reminded, Christ knew what was coming. It makes an Empty Tomb that much more amazing.

You shall explain to your son on that day, This is done because of what the Lord did for me ...

No worries I am not posting everyday. But I have a few more pieces that I haven't shared with you. Ways that you guys have helped make a difference or are going to have an impact. If I have shared theses before, forgive my memory.

This was a capital Campaign we did this past fall. You may recognize it! We raised $27,000. That goes to partnering with pastors, & feeding kids. Now if I could only do that for my own support, ha ha. But how great to be able to create some things on paper to be mailed and it moves the hearts of others to be involved in effecting a community in a "the Hole". my time at my last Job I did just that ( created letters like this, not the text). How neat for God to prepare me again for a job in the future.

This may not sit well with some but I was asked to create a cigar label. At first I though WHAT. but when I heard the heart of wanting to employ people in the Dominican and give them an opportunity. I decided would help. I was still not pumped about it but then I went and met the people and thought you know it is a fun project to be asked to help with. It is not with G.O. but I did meet the owner as He is a supporter of G.O.'s. It is cool to see my finished work on the label. I am not promoting cigarettes or other such things. Cigars in these areas of the world are HUGE, and are avenue for income and also, it is just tobacco, not chemicals. If you know me you know I try to eat healthy, an live a healthy lifestyle. I was doing it to help Dominican's have a job opportunity in a land that has very few. I hope this is not offensive to anybody.

After working with sports camps this summer and photographing the teams. We used those photos in a slide show at the end of camp. It was exciting for the guys as they don't have many opportunities to see them selves on a big screen.

But after a week of photographing, trying got get great shots. I had all these great photos. It was killing me to let them just sit in a file and never be seen. SO I decided to make some post cards for Will and Audrey other staff at GO working in sports ministry. I was so excited of their avenue to reach out I wanted to help. SO out came these postcards. They were so pumped to get them. Will can use them to reach out to potential teams who may come down and lead a clinic in the future. These clinics are highly anticipated and really in these neighborhoods. You can either choose from Drugs, sex or sports ( for guys). That is the truth. All across the globe the story is the same youth are board.

I like to think I had a hand in that. :)

Last year G.O. was able to raise $50,000 by volunteering at the Derby. The biggest part is getting volunteers, So I think visually and came up with a card to help get the word out.

A Team leader guide over may be a T-shirt for teams who go on a trip with G.O. We had over 1,000 people come down on teams last year. And in preparation we give them a guide that is full a of great tips, trick packing list, necessary information, and ways to prepare.
I make it visually interesting.

Pray cards for friends on the field. Missionaries have great hearts but are not always equipped in every area for the mission field. The mission field asks a lot of a person. You may be a doctor to you self or others at times.(I know I have) You are to be keeping the books, leading people, networking, teaching, learning language, might be your own mechanic, have to brush up on international laws ect. There is a wide variety of things you find your self wondering, how do I do this? Well when I am able I try to help take care of an ears that many are in need. that being graphics, and communicating just who they are or what is being done. So these are some samples of my behind the scenes work as of late. hope you enjoyed it.

Calender 2011

So I have made a collection of images that are my favorite from 2010. I have had requests in the past for a 12 month calender of my photographs. So you got your wish. I included excerpts form a book I am enjoying, a pastor that spurs me on and verses that are the fresh whisper of Christ that are so real I feel the mist of the breath of those who wrote and spoke them. We all need inspirational in our lives. Let HIM light your path and dignify your steps.

Hope in Haiti...

We at G.O. are so grateful for so many of you who contributed funds, aid, and prayers for our relief efforts.
Following are a few highlights from those efforts:

G.O. Ministries served over 30 organizations and ministries during the rescue efforts in the days immediately following the quake. As we transitioned from rescue to relief to restoration four significant partnerships with other organizations passionately serving Haiti in Jesus' name emerged. G.O. has used funds raised for Haiti to help further their respective works in the country.
G.O. provided Hands and Feet Project and Joy in Hope with cement mixers, shovels, picks and small generators to help with rebuilding efforts.
G.O. provided funding for one ministry truck for Haitian Christian Outreach who has been on the ground responding to the consequences of the quake since it hit.
G.O. provided two massive generators to Northwest Haiti Christian Mission in order to provide consistent electricity for their new high school serving students displaced by the earthquake.
G.O. IN recent months has partnered again with Northwest to help finance its fight against the current cholera epidemic.
G.O. is blessed to serve alongside of these organizations as we work together to restore Haiti!

Disregaurd last post please

Well as you are wondering what that was. You ca disregard that last post. It was meant for a class I am taking. So now is a great time to tell ya I am taking a class. I would assume you are wondering why. Well It is in education, And it has many reasons. This particular class is on technology but for ano overall goal.
One reason is my family felt as A single woman that a back up plan was a good thing. I myself had to pray about taking some classes as I am called to missions what Am I to do with a class.
Well God started speaking into it also and showing me all the benefits. So I am taking education classes and focusing on middle school. On the mission field you are always teaching somebody something! SO I started to see how this could hep equip me better to reach the nations with the message of Jesus Christ. But then I started thinking how this could help in some countries to meet people and open doors that a non teach er or professional may not have.

So I am slowing taking a class at a time, as that is all that is feasible for now, for many reasons. But excited that God is our leader, guide, provider and equipper. (is there such a word)

May you be blessed to know how blessed you are this thanksgiving holiday. :)

Prayer request

So a quick update as some of you know I went to the DR for Staff retreat and meeting for the year. we try to have 2 one int eh spring in Ky and one in the fall in the DR.

So my prayer request- I knocked a cup of tea on my lap-top. I turned it off and dried it out as fast as I could to save it. We thought it was okay but have realized it is not so good. It won't turn on. So far it looking to be a extremely expensive accident.

I got the computer out of prayer and a blessing from the Lord. It has been a blessing. I wanted to ask that you pray with me for God's solution to this predicament.

Why this is kinda a big deal to me: With the job I have being graphic heavy a computer is a great thing to have. I have one at work. but now I have no mobility, which allowed me to work from the DR this summer.
SO please pray for the Lord to care for this situation.

G.O. golf 2010 has happened once again. It is a chance to raise funds for G.O. Ministries work in the Dominican Republic, and Haiti. Actually we are in 6 countries. It is a great opportunity for people to come out have a game of golf and enjoy the day with their team all the while raising funds for a great cause. I was behind the camera, here is some of my work. We will be sending out photos to the players as a reminder for their time with us and to return the following year. I It is as always a way to introduce people to the work that is going on with an invitation for involvement. In years past we have been blessed to raise 40,000 form this event to be used for many programs such as feeding children, supporting pastors, helping christian schools ect.

So One of my supporters suggested I enter a contest for a free concert in hope of promotion in telling people about what we are up to. It could be a blessing in allowing more supported to get involved.
While I am happy to be creating much needed materials for G.O. here state side. My heart is to be serving the needy over seas. So as you can imagine I am anxious to be moving forward. Anywho the point in this is will you join me in prayer. See if God has this in mind. It would be cool to opportunity to be funded to full fill the things God has called me too! Alot to engage people in cross-culture mission and taking responsibility in the great commission. can it get any better :) okay so pray for the Lords will. thanks for all you guys! That is a sneak peek of a tinny piece of the new website that I am working on. I am praying and you can join me in asking this labor to be fruitful and be a vehicle for more information to be relayed and lead to a stronger connection between the body of Christ in America and abroad.

I am also working on materials for 2011. So my eyes on the upcoming year that the lord would be at work.

I want to share an image with you of a common scene here in the Dominican Republic. Buying things from the back of a truck. So may things we do differently from country to country.
My prayer is that the Lord will full fill my needs for raising support for full time ministry so that I am able to move there. Not that I don't love it here, but this will allow me to get more involved. My hope is that God will allow me to form relationships with young women and have discipleship opportunities. That those young women will go on to do the same.

Pray praises:

visit with some other missionary friends this month (they are visiting the states) such a blessing to me.
Our new website will be up hopefully soon and many can use it as a tool to expand ministry.
I am healthy and healed from sickness over the summer.

Don't under estimate prayer.

I feel like I have, in the sense of I have been busy, we all have been. In the meantime we as a team here at G.O. Ministries have had :

The head pastor had a stroke a month ago
2 cars hit (in the past 2 days)
a friend of a staff member die (2 days ago)
Me- serious dehydration ( past 5 days)
many many others sick over the summer.
my hard drive situation.
I feel like there is more.

I don't write this to say aw poor me. But if people want to know what is going on that is what is going on. I would love your prayers.

I was pretty stressed trying to figure out if I was seriously sick. After two blood tests they have decided I am dehydrated.

I would love your prayers for healing:
My dehydration caused me to not be able to turn my head very easily, turn my eyes (look out of the corner), random pains allover the body, skin hurting, and NO energy (only able to be up for a while at a time), I will leave out a few of the other details.

I have been drinking... but the doctor said I need potassium and salt and such is off. So I am praying the Lord continues to watch over me and restore me to health.

I leave tomorrow.... We have been so busy here hosting teams. Allowing groups to come and invest in the lives of others. To share what it looks like to come alongside a National (Dominican or Haitian) and partner in ministry with them.

WE have seen a lot be accomplished. We have seen the Central church's first floor be completed and used, medical clinical clinics in multiple places, a great Youth Camp for kids that have no one else reaching out to them, sports camps, VBS. So much my list is peuney but you get the idea.

I have had the privileged of making Dominican and Haitian friends, learned more about the culture, learned more of the language, more about the vast reach of what our ministry is involved in and even learned about my other staff members. There are days it feels hopeless (I will be honest) we work in rough areas. Kids are brought up by being allowed to roam the streets, sex is the favorite past time considering how many children everyone has by age 22. Doing the right thing by someone happens but not frequently, drunk drivers and a heaping spoon of craziness...

But when God said to go, he knew all that. God has the plan for me and my life whatever it entails. God has the plan for these people. My prayer is that more and more people will come to know Him. That the next generation will be different than the last. That this new generation will be a wild fire sharing the truth with so many in darkness. Literally, in witchcraft, drugs, alcohol abuse, prostitution, sex slave trade, theft and more.

God reminded me this summer: God chose poverty, He came down to be born in a stable for those He loves. He chose to give. He chose to bring life. He gives us choices to give... look for what He is leading you to do.

So to some of you I will see you soon as I am heading back to Louisville to continue my work in the office. I have quite a few projects waiting on my return.
gonna need a bit of recovery time first.

Update, Well you may have been checking this and wondering where i have gone. I am sorry. we Have been so busy hosting teams. I have been blessed to be apart of a medical clinic in the Bateys ( a extremely poor part of the DR). G.O. has hosted groups to help with Construction on churches, VBS, building Feeding centers, and sports clinic and encouraging partnership. All in all we have been busy with 530 people spread out throughout the weeks so far. A lot has been accomplished. A prayer request I have is that my external hard drive is acting up. I have put all my work on it this Summer including my photos. This may sound trivial but I had planed on using those photos through out the year to make design pieces for Go to show what Ministry is going on here in the Dominican. I would love you prayers that the Lord would correct this problem.

This morning I have was at the sports clinic and I have to share this picture. Of these precious little boys. I am not the first person that comes to mind when people think of sports. But I have grown to LOVE this outreach, as it reaches out to youth that otherwise would be over looked.

The other two pictures are of children hungry physically and starved for attention.

I will be home soon and continue my fundraising and my work with GO ministries states side for a while.

So this morning I was spending time worshiping (in English). As in some places outside the US they do church at night. SO that leaves us Americans out of sorts. Any who my good friends know I LOVE MUSIC! Love is probably not a strong enough word. In the mist of this time the Lord gave me an idea to write bible study. I would love your prayers for God's leading as to where He would have me go in this. But thought I would share my excitement. I pray you have some time today to sing off key as laod as you like and rest in teh presence of your Father, bridegroom and comforter.

My trip to Haiti-

As John, Sherá ( tall smiley Haitian) and I set out I as nervous. Anything new no mater what makes me nervous. Thank goodness my curiosity gets the better of my nerves or I would never leave home.

We drove to Dajabon (the boarder town) Monday met up with the pastors at a restaurant there got some chicken and John discussed some matters. Handed out some small gifts and tracks in Creole for them to use. Then these men seemed like strangers.

It started to rain so we stayed the night in Dajabon. Woke up the next morning and headed for the border. Once over the boarder and through immigration and we were met by those same pastors.

After a long day of travel we arrived in Cera Cavajal. I have no idea how to spell these names so bear with me and sound it out. J We arrived to Icene’s home where we were greeted by his wife and brothers. I always struggle with the hospitality... I have been shown in third world countries. As there generosity is overwhelming and I always feel undeserving.

We went to church that night. Church consist of LOTS of singing, it was great to be in this little hut with these people crying out to God. Again their passion almost made me feel like I needed to step it up. Then the next day we went to see the neighboring town and father of Icene and Sherá. Etene who live in Min Dos. It is about 10 minuets away. We visited their school. Most of the pastors we are partnered with in ministry have a school I though this was cool they were wanting to reach out and provide schooling for the kids in their community.

The next day we went to Piogn to visit Philip and saw his church and then visited a hospital. The hospital had the smell of sickness. The faces of the people in the beds was one pain and exhaustion. We visited a associate pastor who had had surgery. I shutter to think of surgery there and the recovery. He had not had any pain medicine. We stayed and spoke with him and his wife to see if they needed anything and prayed over them.

IN man ways Haiti’s country side could be seen as a pristine place. The stuff od movies. The creeks, mountains, even their gardens. Yet life is hard there with little work. BUT what I see that is oppression is ignorance. I don’t’ mean that in a derogatory way. Ignorance is passed down from generation to generation. What I see is they have gardens, chickens, goats available, water for washing. Yes there are Huge needs but knowledge is the gift that keeps going. If the little boys are running around naked then maybe it would be hardened for worms to spread. In schools I am sure they are teaching the normal subjects. But it would be neat to see if we could do some thing to spire their students to become something. Doctors, nurses, teacher, ect.

My observations were that these people are precious gems preserved by their isolation. Yet behind due to isolation. I pray were guard that and pray about the right approach because it is a fragile Eco system in their culture, in our doing good be are mindful that we can also damage.

We have been privileged and allowed into a special place in this world. The people were friendly welcoming. We have so much to learn from them as well. Yet we are able to share also. Even in my conversation about salvation I was explaining that you are not born a christian you have to choose. God give you a choice. We are to tell a our kids about Christ so that they may know the truth.

I would think Hygiene, and inspiration for them to grow up a generation that will strengthen Haiti. That our schools would prepare them more than the other schools that it would demand more and that they would be prepared to do great things. Int that that Haiti would slowly be changed. That these kids would also become Christians that they can share what it looks like to have integrity and character. To not take bribes and to not fight with every one. I saw what looked like heated arguments. This is a sign of lack of training.

I loved my trip And count my self so privileged to be able to go. I captured man photos. I like them but I will let you be the judge of whether you think they are good or not. There are many dark places and rooms that you defiantly needed a SLR camera to capture the low lit spaces. Which ther are low lit spaces every where as they have no electricity.

While there I thought of The Great Depression and how there were work projects started to get people moving again. I saw many just sitting around. Also in two places I felt more spiritual oppression than others. In others I felt totally safe and surrounded by Angles.

While we were there John delivered the audio bibles to the preachers. After it was explained to them they seemed to really enjoy it. I couldn’t help but to think what it was going to do for those families, in way of knowing what the bible says. How those kids would be exposed so much more of the word. Each of them had it playing seemed like 24/7 after we gave it to them. To the point that I was ready to take them back so I could turn it off.Non the less what a blessing that will be.

I think it was a great trip. I was able to capture as much as I could. I thank God as I felt prepared for the experience thanks to all the camping/hiking my family has done and I truly LOVED IT. All except the germs I got on the last day. But but a little Cipro took care of them. I am back to normal now. I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I do. These people are truly special.

My first Team

My first team I helped with in teh DR with GO.

I helped assisting caring for the team while they were here. I also took photos and made video show for them to celebrate what they have done while here and show when they get back. It was a good week. I a stretching week as I traveled again, the whole team did and we stayed in another home of a Dominican. Their homes are not like our homes. Needless to say I didn't appreciate all the critters that went bump in teh night. Someone named it Noah's ark for that exact reason. But we helpe do some construciton in two places, a VBS, encouraged the pastor and some of his flock, played with kids, and helped translate simple Spanish between the Dominicans and Americans and did some evangelism. I pray the Lord continues the good work.

G.O. going gone

I have been in the DR for a bit now. However, my highlights have to be the time I have gotten to spend with the Haitians. I got to see my favorite little Haitian boy Carvins. Carvins is Lisa and Wilby's little boy who was rescued from Haiti after the earthquake. Every time he saw Americans, he would ask Lisa, "Is Becca coming?" I thought that was so sweet! As you can guess, we were excited to see one another again. He is the cutest little boy I am so excited for him to be in a Christian home with loving parents who are protecting him and teaching him. He is growing and learning so much. he now speaks better Spanish than me.

Yesterday I was introduced to a group of young Haitian ladies who were at our construction site. We had something in common, wanting to learn a new language. They wanted to learn English and I wanted to learn Creole. I found this out because they were so fascinated with me that for a second there I thought I had some thing on my face. I didn't see what was so intriguing, but I guess they were excited about the opportunity to learn English from a gringa.

Today was a great day also as I returned to the construction site of the church. While I was standing in the door way I saw a little girl (maybe 3 years old) with a torn red dress crying and coming across the street. She had tiny little braids in her hair and a round dark face. She was barefoot and waked right through the door under a person chiseling rock from above. Her bare feet had no place in this rusty nail infested area. There were shovels flying and concrete block being thrown. All this was taking place about the level of her head. Her mom didn't seem concerned, but I finally couldn't take it! I offered my hand and she took it. So I picked her up only to find her bare little bottom under her dress. She immediately laid her head on my shoulder and I carried her across the street where it was safer. I tried to leave her but it was clear she would go right back into the construction where she would inevitably be hurt. So, I stayed there and tried to think up a game. The best I could come up with was collecting smooth rocks and stacking them on top up one another like a tower, complete with my sound effects to enhance the fun. She and her sister soon joined in. I watched as she turned from a scared little girl who would not smile, to a giggly precious little thing. I truly felt privileged as I know all children are immensely valuable to Christ. Life is so hard for Haitians! (more on that later)

Random fact for today: I have taken to doing the daily laundry in the shower. Water comes (get's turned off or runs out) and goes and is a precious commodity here. This way I get it done, we shall see if I keep it up. Okay good night and Dios Te bendiga. (God bless you). He is our reward enjoy Him. :)

Brazil 2010

So I was in to Brazil from May 7^th until the 25^th ( something like that), back out in the Amazon river, the Arapiunes (a tributary river) and out to the Planalto (in the woods or AKA “middle of now where”). While waiting in airports, I have slept in more places and positions than I thought possible ( two day travel time). Still, I made it back to the US only to go out again to the Dominican Republic. As a result of my travel to Brazil, I keep speaking Portuguese to people. I tried speaking to a kid on the plane in Spanish. I must have said something odd because he said, "You're crazy and I am leaving". I guess he didn't understand my Portañol :) It’s okay I understood his Spanish :)

My time there was so great. I got to aid and entertain kids at the health clinic. The entertaining part is ministering to little kids who get anxious from waiting for treatment. I was invited to speak three different times while there. First, to a small church cell group (in where I like to affectionately refer to “the middle of nowhere”). Second, I spoke to a friends youth group (which I enjoyed, youth have such potentail). Finally, I spoke to a cell group. Each time I thought, "Why do I have to speak? Shouldn't some one else? What do I have to say?" Each time I spoke I was reminded that it doesn't matter what I think or say. God is the one with things to say and He will give the words. He did!

I got to swim (or bathe) in a beautiful creek ( clear water), visit with friends, work in small communities, go to church and sing in portuguses, sleep in my hammock, enjoy the beautiful night sky out on the river, use an array of latrines and outhouses (for some reason I find that adventurous) , have some relax time with good old friends, and eat some rare new fruits! I loved all of it and I was soooooo blessed. It is an amazing place and one where the Word and presence of God is needed in many areas. As a praise, His presence IS growing in areas.

I am also excited to have been able to visit and help my friend Silvia (main reason for going) prepare for her upcoming wedding. She is Brazilian and a close friend who is very dear to me. She is marring John a new missionary there in Brazil. I was encouraged to spend time with them and hear their hearts for the lost. They both have hearts for the nations and will be missionaries together. I was also to help her get a dress and photograph her while there. Can't show those yet cause the wedding hasn't happened. But I love to photograph the Bride alone to show the splendor and it always reminds me of the Bride in the Bible. It is a beautiful picture and I love the live visual of a bride anxiously awaiting her wedding day!

Anywho...I have posted updates in the form of videos for those of you who are non readers... But feel like I haven't really filled you in.

First off praises... I was blessed to attend a Conference at my church this weekend called
BE IN HEALTH it was such a blessing. I knew the basic principles but saw that I was not using them, it was great information. It basically reminded me yeah the spiritual world is real we are called to contend not roll over. So armor up.

I have working away helping set up things for GO. Making Design materials for a conference where we hope to get young new church planters involved in partnering and church planting overseas while they do it here in the USA doubling their reach. Therefore putting missions the DNA of the church. Banner picture shown at the top!
Also I have been working on T-shirts to sell for the proceeds to go to Haiti restoration. I say restoration because that is what Christ brings. These shirts are for sail in case you find yourself saying MAN THAT IS A COOL SHIRT, I WANT ONE. And remember the proceeds go to Haiti.

Update on my support.... I am working on connecting with friends and families to share the vision God has put on my heart why I am in this... And sharing the need for others to get involved and get behind me in doing missions. SO I would love your continued prayers. I an not quite half way there.

Update on me in general would be that I have been trying to get things done here before summer as I have plans of being out of the office and on the field. God has been reminding me that He has me here for some lessons and even just today I hear don the radio about how pearls are made. I already knew about the process but it was a good reminder for me... an agitation is what makes the clam form the pearl. God is making Pearls and I am grateful at times and working on being grateful 100% of that time. :) So I am grateful He knows the plans for us (Jeremiah 29:11). It has been several days since we spoke. The Lord is continuing his path with us. He continues to bless us and to keep us close to Him.

La semaine derniere j'avais recu une autre cargaison. Le pitot repondait au nom de Peter.

Nous avions recu de l'eau, des sardines , du riz, du spaguetti, des haricot, du lait et d'huile. Ces produits ont ete distribues le lendemain aux membres de l'eglise et a certaines personnes de la communaute.

Last week, I had received another cargo shipment. The pilot answered to the name Peter. We received water, sardines, rice, spaghetti, beans, milk and oil. These products were distributed the next day to members of the church and certain people from the community.

Samedi 13, nous avions recu la visite de frere Bob. Il nous a remis les provisions et l'argent que CIP nous a envoyes. Le comite de l'eglise a decide que cet argent continue a etre utilise pour aprovisionner les familles en produits alimentaire. Il faut que je vous le dise, la visite de frere Bob a ete d'une grande importance a mes yeux et aux yeux de l'eglise, bien qu'elle n'avait pas eu de le rencontrer physiquement. Nous savons qu'ils a consenti d'enormes efforts pour arriver jusqu'a nous a Jacmel.

Saturday the 13th, we received a visit from Brother Bob. He gave us the provisions and the money that CIP sent us. The church committee decided that this money would continue to be used to provide food supplies for families. I have to tell you that Bob's visit was very important in my eyes and also in the eyes of the church even though they weren't able to meet him personally. We know that it took great efforts to reach us in Jacmel.

Hier, apres le service d'adoration, frere Henry m'a telephone. Nous avions longuement parle. Il m'a parle de l'engagement du CIP vis a vis de l'eglise des Orangers et de ma famille. Il m'a annonce l'intention de l'eglise d'envoyer une petite equipe nous visiter soit en mars ou en Avril. Deja nous prions pour cette future visite.

Yesterday after the worship service, brother Henry called me. We spoke for a long time. He talked to me about CIP commitment to the EBO and to my family. He informed me of the intention of the church to send a small team to visit us either in March or April. We are already praying about this future visit.

In wathing the EBO community, I've been able to see a positive evolution spiritually and mentally. I think that is the result of the comfort and support that you have testified to us (the community and to me). We are very thankful.

Just one of many things I get to help with while I am here in the office. I create communication tools for G.O. Ministries to use. While some may look at this and think, that's it? The reality of it is I create communication pieces, and tools to help share the ministry with others. Giving them an opportunity to get involved, stay updated, be informed while helping introduce new people to this opportunity of missions and mercy.

We are still forging a head in sending needed supplies to Haiti. Most recently the local and a few other news papers around the country helped us with a campaign to collect tents. This is a great need as the rainy season has started there, and disease carrying mosquitoes are not to be reckoned. Tents also provide a bit of privacy and solace, which I think we would all like, especially if you have lost your home and are sleeping on the street.

On a fun note I am also helping the ministry by helping the other missionaries with their blogs! I am getting a kick out of it as I don't know tons about it but am learning new things each time. I know this will be a great help in connecting people with what is going on in the Dominican Republic and Haiti. I hope it provides an opportunity view life in the D.R., photos, prayer requests and more. It is good preparation for the new website for G.O. I am also working on! :)

So I am back in the US. I have taken a few days to rest and return to some resemblance of me. I am not saying I experienced traumatic things nor saw mangled bodies. My time in Haiti was brief. It was to help GO share what they are doing in hopes of allowing others to join in the effort of supporting the work we are doing and will continue to do amongst the island of Hispaniola and around the world. All that said I have found it hard to return for many reasons. One, my heart breaks for the people, yes the earthquake happened and probably a third of the country has died with this horrible tradgety (sp?)... but what percentage that will be left mangled and handicapped is even more disturbing to me. I am left with that as a haunting reality. As a missionary my heart is with and for the people, and a photographer I am supposed to get the photo that tells a story. I found myself wanting to chuck my camera and sit and cry with the people. Although they would probably look at me and say, "suck it up lady", they have a hard life and are strong people.

I am still trying to find words to convey my experience there, while it may have been short in Haiti, I felt like I lived it every second while in the D.R. as I was constantly hearing stories from pilots, rescue workers, doctors returning for a respite. Please continue to pray for Haiti. While there is so much heart ache there is much work to be done and hope on the horizon.

One my way over to Haiti I was praying as I was sent alone, so as you might imagine a table bit nervouse as to what I would be greeted with or by whom on the other side. my exit plan was "we'll figure it out." So I spent sometime in prayer and was careful to watch to see when we passed the boarder in to Haiti. I had peace when we passed over the line, and heard the Lord speak to me about Haiti. It was about things being knocked off, like some one setting in a place of power on a chair and they were knocked off. so that chair sits empty... It is a time of opportunity... Let's not squander it. Lets pray for godo things to come to Haiti, for strong leaders and examples to help the people.

Last week's quake killed an estimated 200,000 people in Haiti, left 250,000 injured and made 1.5 million homeless, according to the European Union Commission. A powerful aftershock caused even more damage Wednesday.

"The bottom line is they need cash, they need checks," said Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., chairman of the tax-writing House Ways and Means Committee.

WASHINGTON - Taxpayers who make donations for Haitian earthquake victims would be able to write off this charitable deduction when they file their 2009 taxes this spring, under a bill passed by the House Wednesday.

Under current law, donors would have to wait until they file their 2010 returns next year to take the deductions. But the newly advanced bill would allow donations made by the end of February to be deducted from 2009 returns.

The bill passed on a voice vote with no opposition. Quick Senate action is expected. A similar law was enacted in 2005 for donations to victims of the Indian Ocean tsunami that happened in December 2004.

Words can not describe the good and the bad stories that are happening on this Island of Hispaniola. While there is tragedy all around, we are encouraged by God's people. Organizations are all working together in different ways. Missionaries were the first responders as they lived there, and know the people. We have been delivering aid and they are distributing this much needed aid. They have no red tape, no agenda. Their agenda is to help the people. They are there for the people.

I wanted to write and tell a positive story, God is using His people. They are showing up for others in their time of need. We are called to love give and reach out beyond ourselves. Love you neighbor as your self right? Well as far as I am concerned Haiti is America's neighbor. It is about a 2.5 hour plane ride to there from the US.

I am so thankful for the hearts that make up G.O. Minsitries, that their first priority is helping those in need.

Tell others as it won't get done alone,
Support us to sustain the efforts,
Pray for us as we as we venture in to hard places

God has opened a door in Haiti. I'm in the Dominican Republic for several weeks with G.O. Ministries. Because they support
and partner with Haitian pastors they have found a way to safely bring
in food and supplies immediately, and to do it in the name of Jesus.
They are bringing the supplies by boat to a port in Jacmel just south of PDP. We had enough to rent the first boat to transport goods but they need more money to meet these needs. They need it now. 100% of the money given will go directly towards Haiti. You can donate by going to
www.go-ministries.org. We assumed it would be weeks before we could get in and make any real difference. Praise God for opening this door!

YEAY as I have learned that Jacamel is not accessible because of the mountains being crumbled. We went to resuce two amreican teams that were trapped and rationing food and water. Well I learned about Jacamel and how they are unreached yet this is the exact place we went to help. PLEASE DO PRAY. We are hearing that drivers are with supplies are being stopped, pulled out of their truck and being killed to ge tot supplies. We just sent people to deliver aid. SO PLEASE PRAY FOR THEIR PROTECTION.

We have also gotten contact with Wilby !!!! A dear freind and worker (pastor with the ministry) and husband adn father of dear friends. He is safe and his family is safe. PRAISE THE LORD. We are so thankful for that news.
Others we know have not been so fortunate. And will be returning soon. I beg you not to get preoccupied and distracted. Please do lift up this place that this country would be taken care of... that change would come. Thank you for your prayers.

THE LIGHT PURPLE IS SANTIAGO AND ORANGE IS PORTA AU PRINCE.
So To help people out in location I am in Santiago in the Dominican Republic. While the Earth Quake was n Port Au Prince Haiti. Things are okay here. GO is working on helping other mission teams to get to safety. They are also gathering and sending funds to help in the relief effort there. But we are not trained and would probably cause more issues to jump right and head there. SO we are helping those who need it to get to safer areas and we are praying and sending funds. As we know in missions you learn funds are what get thing started and some times it is great to be a worker and not the chief. What I mean is we are letting those more qualified and trained to do what they do best and we will help in the ares we are able.
We have some of our workers rescuing teams that are stranded. And we are praying and asking other to pray.
The earth quake was on a different side of the island but was felt here. There is no sustained damage. But it has hit home, as we work with partner with love and care about our Haitian brothers and sisters. We have two workers who are go into find their family as all communication is down. SO please keep them in your prayers. As I learned of the news in the airport on my way to the Dominican I was heart broken. I was in an airport surrounded by people yet all I wanted to do was sit and cry with the Lord. As I didn't have to see photographs of what it would be like. I knew. There they have no infrastructure, no fire department, to EMS. What I can say is I held it together, and got to pray with a close friend who called at the perfect time ( he knew nothing of what was going on). Yet the Lord provided for me to be able to talk with her and then PRAY we both prayed.I needed that. I needed to be able to pray a fervent prayer and know that it was coupled withe same sentiment and passion.

I will post more in a bit but wanted to let you know I am okay, But I wish you could meet some of the Haitians I know! they are amazing people! friendly and loving and strong, you just want to hug them! Pray that the Lord wraps His hand around them as they are his creation and his children! thanks and GOD BLESS. Dios Te Bendiga!

My goal for now in support raising is $2,500.00 in monthly support. Your thinking huh? Your single and can't possibly need that. Well my support also goes to making sure the work continues so my support contributes to

building/construction funds,
feeding centers,
sponsoring a child,
and nationals worker/ pastors to see these things continue.
Then my support goes to a salary for me
then for insurance,

I recently was given a precious gift. To many it would be trash but it serves as a reminder to me why I do exactly what I do. Why I took a leap and got started with out my funding underneath me. Hey there folks... Well I thought I should ask you all to pray once again. I have heard from some of you and how you are praying. THANK YOU. As it can feel overwhelming to raise funds. Any who... I would love your prayers for my efforts on continued prayer support. I have a few who have sounded interested but have not fully committed or carried out supporting this work with G.O. Also I met with 3 churches about opportunities for support, and so far 1 is a no, another is not looking like an open door and the third is up in the air. While I believe my own church is on board and wanting to send me out and support me, which feels so great.
So I pray that the Lord supplies the people and churches He wants. I pray for favor and that I may be privileged to be used. I pray for open doors and for the joy of the Lord to in all circumstances.

Sometimes I wonder if people hear The Dominican Republic and think that's not that great of a need. I have heard, "this place needs it more, or this place needs it more". That always hurts my heart to hear, because the needs are needs, hurting people who don't' know their savior.

On my recent trip to the DR I was overwhelmed and found myself speechless (a rare moment). After some time to process, I realized I had forgotten the overwhelming needs in the DR and Haiti. Yet at the same time it makes me smile to know God directs our path and He has the plan. I feel privileged and I have a confirmed purpose of serving the Lord and the people of this island. Now mater how big or how small.

I am exited to be apart of the restoration process in a land rot with poverty, teenage pregnancy, crime, slavery, drugs, prostitution... Jesus offers love, hope and restoration.

I have support meetings this Thursday and Friday morning...
I just met with a mission committee yesterday.
That the Lord would arrange divine appointments for more of this.

So my prayer is that the seeds be planted and God would water them.

Serving FULL TIME

Well, I promised an update. Here goes notihin........

I am going to head back to do missions Full-Time.

It's been a year since i have posted anything on here. So here is the fun news...

Any-who. I am taking the plunge and taking God’s leading into FULL-TIME missions ministry.
I have waffled over weather to work with G.O. Ministries since I left the Dominican Republic in 05 . The Lord has been making it ever so clear ways that I can help with the work in the Dominican Republic. I have had this place and these people in my heart for awhile as I said. And in each of my other ministry places I have asked myself the question. “Am I supposed to be in the D. R.?”

I have had a sense of working with G.O. (even had two dreams about it) while in Brazil, and after returning home. Only God could have arranged answers to prayers no one new about. I have seen God’s leading and most of all have a calming peace about it. (been waiting on that one).
The ministry at G.O., The Dominican Republic and Haiti have some big needs and I have the skills to help in some areas. ☺

I attempted to write this and tell all that has lead to this point and realize that is not possible. And wondered how to see if you want to be involved. I learned first hand how much I need support while in ministry. Emotional, encouragement, financial and prayer support. People who care.

I don’t want to write the perfect words to entice you to support me. I pray that God will lead you.

I know America is in hard times and things are changing. But honestly, our call to share God’s love doesn't change with circumstance.
Honestly it's about people meeting there creator and savior, and caring for the needy.

Mark 16:15 He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.

G.O. is involved in helping train up pastors, building churches, feeding children, providing free medical clinics.

The Need is so great. I would love it if you were a part of loving on the people there. Not all can go, but all have ways to be involved.

Oh I am setting a goal to start transitioning to work with them by the end of September (pending finical support).

***And since I will be full-time & long term :) Monthly donations are needed more so than one time gifts. There are options: automatic withdraw option, paypal options, check, or take your lump sum and divided it into months. just thoughts.

*** In prayer support I hope to update my bog frequently to keep people informed with the things God is doing in the ministry!

in case you don't know skype is a way you can talk on the computer for cheep or free anywhere in the world. You can also do video cam to see and speak.

Well, wow. I am back in Louisville. Most people ask, "How was it?"
I am have been wondering how you sum up this time there. HUMMM... I still have yet to land on anything. So here goes my attempt:
Brazil was both an amazing experience and a privilege. I was able to help out in tons of different ways. Boat trips (construction, health, evangelism, children's programs), graphics, cell groups, some big jobs and lots of little jobs that needed extra hands. And myself and a few other short-termers were just that, extra hands.
SO things I miss from Brazil: Cupuacu (I doubt I spelled that right, but it is strange fruit that I came to really like). Nap time (America needs to institute this). Really what I find myself missing are the friendships and relationships I was building there with the youth and young adults. And the purpose over everything (making disciples).
Don't worry I am not hating America or Americans now. But it is taking a bit to get used to it again. It is so nice to see family and kick back and laugh with friends.
Am I going back? Good question. I am praying about it, my heart misses it and is like, "Yeah, lets go." So right now I am taking time to adjust and visit with people here in the states. Please keep me in your prayers as I continue to seek what God has for me. I also want to say thank you for all of you who have supported me with your prayers and financial support. Is an honor to have people who are willing to get involved and get excited about the opportunities to share Christ with others. I pray the Lord is blessing you and your families in enormous ways. Hope to see you or talk to you soon.

SO what to write. Well, I just got back from my probably my last boat trip. AHHH. It was an Alligator hunting, spear fishing, grapefruit picking, snake dodging, fire ant biting extravaganza. No really it was a great time of worship, prayer, visiting, evangelizing, and preaching, testifying, and watching Jesus invade the earth and heal many many many many people we prayed for. There are a few that got away. But they are stuck in my heart and I will continue to pray for them. It also pushes you for more intimacy with the father.

Here is what my friend wrote about our trip and I thought dang it she did a far better job explaining things. So enjoy. :)

Wow has the time passed, we only have two more weeks left here in Brazil. We just got back from our last boat trip and God saved the best for last! All our time here has come down to this last boat trip, God used our abilities in Portuguese to minister to people on a new level that we haven’t been able to do this whole time. Around 60 people came to the Lord and another 50 people were healed from various things. Not only did we see headaches and backaches healed, we saw one lady get healed from cancer! Now let me stop all your thoughts right there with saying how do you know she got healed from cancer and let me tell you how it all happened.

One night during ministry time a lady came up having cancer near her left armpit. When she came up for prayer she was believing the Lord for a healing that night, and the Lord moved. She came up with a lump right were the cancer was, as we prayed the lump began to shrink! By the end of our time praying the lump was no longer there, and she said her skin where the lump used to be was completely soft. She had surgery scheduled but the Lord stepped in and did the surgery on His own time. Glory to God!

Another day as we stopped for a short while to talk to a local river pastor. A lady from church came to the boat saying, there is a man who wants prayer for healing and he is not saved. Marcos (Brazilian Friend) and Ben jumped up and left the boat right away. As we arrived at the house we sat down and just asked simply, “What seems to be the problem and do you want to be healed?” Then briefly explained that the Lord wanted to heal him and began to pray. The man had pain in his back and in his chest, after a short prayer the pain was completely gone. Then we talked to him for about 10 to 15 minutes and he received the Lord. How easy and awesome does the Lord make it to lead someone to Him.

We also spent a lot of time doing children’s ministry. As someone who has come to the Lord at the age of four, this ministry has always meant a lot to me.. I know by experience that children can feel the love and peace of God and make that commitment to the Lord. We did skits, songs, and shared the gospel message. About 50 kids came to know the Lord that week! How precious are our children to the Lord.

What to say. at the moment I am counting down the days. You can take that both ways.... counting down the days to seeing my family and friends, and some nice long forgotten convinces. experincing arts and media again is a excitement of mine too.
But on the other hand I am counting down the days a and feel like a little kid that doesn't want to go and is being dragged along, my feet are pushing against anything i can find for leverage and not to make me go. I have become accustomed to life here. I have made friends and at times they feel like family too. There is a mighty work taking place here and I hate to walk out on that.
I am asking my self this question a lot. How do missionaries do it. Leave there loved ones, some times for a lifetime. the only thing I can think of is to stay focused on the task Christ i s calling you too.
But with each day that passes I want to say that I realize how little I know.
So yep my time here in Brazil is almost up. I would love your prayers as I am seeing I am torn and need the Lords guidence.
But am so thankful that I have had the privillage of coming here and working with PAZ. I am continuing to learn from the missionaries here. I hope I have gathered as much drops of wisdom from them as possible.

Well it's me again. So here is my update, I will try and keep it brief because I am thinking you all could be getting tired of my ramblings about life on the mission field. This weekend has been jam packed for my brain and I am trying to keep up. Here in Santarém and PAZ we have had many "short-termers" varying in stay from weeks to 2 months to me at 6 months. Different ages, walks of life, and from very different places. As of late, three have left. ☹ All amazing people, seeking where God would have them and taking there time here with PAZ to hear if the Lord is calling them to missions full time into the future, or here to offer help during a summer break. They have been an asset in many ways let along just sheer manpower. I pray the Lord blesses them and we will see them again soon.
My time here is not usually this packed with great activities. Let's recount the days:
Thursday I was invited to a pray vigil, where some young people were crying out to God, awesome to be apart of that. Except for the fire ants, mean little buggers.
Friday baby shower for a friend here, Ruth. It was cool to see… Why? Well for one, I can't seem to get away from baby showers no matter where I go, ha-ha. But it was cool to see the Grandma's pray for this unborn child. The grandma's are working on the mission field, the daughter (the lady who is pregnant) was raised on the mission field and has returned to work here also and so a new generation of children coming and hopefully joining this work. What a blessing.
Saturday we (short-termers) were invited to spend some time with one of the main leaders of PAZ, Project AmaZon. Where she shared the vision of PAZ, why they do what they are doing. My heart got so excited. I will try and recount…
PAZ was started in the 70s I think, but the vision from the beginning was to evangelize the Amazon Basin, then all of Brazil, then the rest of the world. They compared it to Judea, Samaria and to the ends of the earth. Well, Paz is having a big effect on things here and spreading the word about Christ. I can't begin to tell how much things have changed due to PAZ planting churches. But really it's the Holy Spirit planting churches using the people of PAZ. And other missionaries here too.
PAZ has been sending out church planters into the deeper parts of the Amazon and having great success, and recently sent out workers to another city here in the basin called Fortaleza. It is a large city, not considered easy soil. But they are now running a church that has about 1500 members in it in 2 years. YEAH!
And so they plan to continue on in this, send a team to Sao Paulo to start a church plant there. They can't wait to see it boom into a great church that worships the Lord, and leads people to Him. And by going after the Judea (the Amazon, and reaching the unreached) and then going after Samaria (other parts of Brazil) and doing so in larger cities where they gather resources also. This will help the work continue on to the ends of the earth by funding more to go out to the rest of the world.
Two of my new friends here, Jennifer and Josiah, are actually planning on being part of that team to go out to the rest of the world. The excitement for me is so joyous. This is just the beginning… but what a pleasure to take the gospel to those who don't know, who NEED Christ. They need His companionship, His relationship, protection and provision for their lives. What a joy to introduce them to the God who created them and sees them like no one else can, with immense love. I love vision and hearing it cast. You get to see the big picture, the reason why we do what we do. The vision keeps you on the road.

SO what does this mean? It means please pray for me. As I get so excited about this vision of church planting, and discipleship.

PAZ is a bit different than most of the organizations I have worked with, in the fact that they are a cell group church. And I am not gonna lie, I am still trying to get used to it. But I see the fruit of it. The goals are to get everyone involved in a cell group and everyone is discipled and has a discipler. So the church is not ONLY the pastor's responsibility, it is in the hands of the people. Who are going out and making disciples. AND then multiplying, and growing.
And as for the team they sent to Fortaleza, they used a very different mode there also. Here is my best description. You can take a seed and plant it in the ground and water it and grow it and it will grow, but it will take time. Or you can transplant a tree, a fruit bearing tree. One that has proven in the past it can bear fruit and plant it and it will continue to bear fruit. You will get a crop (small but good). Or you can transplant a whole orchard and bear a huge crop after you have watered and adjusted to the new place. The yield of the crop will be huge. The first is a believer but staring out. The second is a believer who has learned and proven himself; fruit bearing raised up leaders, lead a cell group discipled…. The third is to transplant a team, a group of these believers who have proven fruit bearing in the past. Transplant that and your start will be great and people are attracted to what's happening, growing, the thing in motion.
They have proven this new method effective. As I think they sent either 100 or 50 couples or families to Fortaleza and in two years are at 1500 in their church. What a blessing to that city and people.

So I would definitely ask for your prayers. As excited as I get about vision, I am still human and am homesick. But as a friend put it "you need to fight for an eternal mindset." I really liked that I knew I needed more of an eternal mindset, but I don't know how well I have been fighting for it. SO Lord speak to us all and give us the courage to follow.

PS: I heard an interesting (not sure if it is fact) tidbit that America is one of the 3rd largest unreached people groups in the world. Really hit me. Wow, and think of all the immigrants to the US daily. AGBC, be lifting up Michael and Erica as they are in the heart of it in Miami.

So as we were chugging away at our cell group we were puney. But remember I spoke about the congresso and how many people came to the Lord or came back to the Lord? Well, Sylvia and I get to see some of that fruit. As a girl name Chyoni came back to the Lord, and on fire. And we are merging our cell group with her and a few of her friends. So we had our first meeting last night (Saturday), which went very well. She is so pumped and I am excited to see what God has up His sleeve. As we had more than ten people there I think. Please remember to pray for Fajita and Gabriela, and Fabioani, as they are the girls in our cell who are not so consistent. I pray they will have more of a desire to know God and get involved in the cell where they can fellowship, learn and be encouraged.

Why is it again that we are not bold and staring into the face of spiritual warfare and growling back? Just asking my self a few questions. Why are we not bolder? Or why am I not.... that is the question. (sigh) Never the less the Lord again is teaching me intimacy with Him, it is the fuel for everything.
I am reading a book called "The Shack". It has such great timing in my life, as God had intended I am sure. But really just reminding me of God's goodness, and His measure of Love towards us. I have to admit I have a hard time swallowing even a drop of the measure of His love He has for us. That is where I go wrong, that is where worry comes from. Insecurities, distrust, whatever it may be.... it seems to me that we should just try and understand that God loves us more that we can imagine. It will change our perspective. I don't say this as a Sunday school lesson, but really try and grasp the depths of His love. How deep how wide, how long. Like Paul writes in Ephesians 3:18.

By the way, alligator tastes pretty good. :)

I am home for a bit again in Santarem. Someone pointed out that I have 7 weeks left here. It made me shriek. Counting in weeks makes it sound so small. It's such a hard thing to express the great want to see you again (friends, family, familiar places and customs), and yet the other half of me feels like, "No, I am not done here, there is so much to do." As my time is coming to an end I pray that the Lord will guide me as to what steps He wants me to take when I am finished with my 6 month commitment here. BUT, if you know me, I think, contemplate, and wrestle with little decisions let alone big ones. And so I have been asking the Lord what He wants me to do, even before I arrived here. But I am learning over and over to give it over to the Lord.
He is also teaching me to seek His face, not his hand. When I heard this the first time in a message I thought I would never do that, and As I have heard it more recently I had the same reaction, I am not seeking Him for physical things, but then it dawned on me, I am seeking Him for a decision and not just seeking Him. Thank goodness He is patient. I am banking on that cause I seem to keep messing up. And I think of the task we have been given to make disciples of the whole world. That feels daunting to me.
So I am helping with this new cell group for twenty-something girls (yet I haven't been there much due to travel). But they are more affluent and educated, and in my experience that adds challenges to evangelize to. When I really take in the task God has called us to no matter where we live (make disciples, love the Lord your God with all your heart, and love your neighbor as yourself). It I feels like I am standing at the bottom of a huge hill. It actually has brought me to tears a few times. How am I to get people to hear me about Jesus. But at the end of the day, it has nothing to do with me. He has to do it. He has to bring the people, He has to soften their hearts, He gives faith, He saves. He does it! (sigh) All the sudden I feel air returning to my lungs. I am a tool, He does it. SO I have to pray for Him to smooth the path, give me words, give me people, opportunities. Try to wrap your head around what a gracious God we have. He calls us to work, and then says you can't do it without me. He is the key component. So yeah I have responsibility, but once I do my part and step out in faith, be obedient, He has to do the rest.
If anybody from AGBC reads my updates, know that I miss you all. I miss worshiping with you guys, crying out to God together as a body. I miss those challenging messages from Chip and the communion times. Keep pushing on the Doors of Heaven.

Yesterday I was giving an English class and my two students blew me a way for there love for the Lord. They are around 18, but so on fire for God it encourages me. And our English class ends up being a Portuguese class for me too, so I only had one student that day. His name is Mardin Junio and yes, I spelled that right cause he corrected me. Hehe. So God has given him a sermon about running away or going up the mountain. He was talking about how God wanted to talk to all of the Israelites on top of Mount Siani. But they all ran away scared. And told moses to go. They were afraid of intimacy. When that is exactly what God wants. Are we gonna be scared of going up to God, being in His presence in the "cloud of God" as he put it? Or are we running away? The Lord told him to give this message at his cell group. He said people were coming off the street and half of them were not Christians in the group. So He was thinking, "I am scared to give this message, maybe I should talk about love or something else." But God was saying, "Give this message." He said even his mom was saying stop inviting people, we don't have anymore chairs, your crazy. But he quoted to me where Paul writes how he is crazy for Chirst. Juinio reminds me of a sermon he heard called Dangerous People. A previous discussion on how God is looking for Dangerous people. And continued to tell me about Rinhart Bonkie, a preacher who started with one person coming to hear him speak in Africa. One person. He was discouraged but God told him keep going, and his numbers grew form 1 to 1,000, to 2,000, 5,000, to 1mil, to I can't remember the insane number. That people have come to his crusades and also met their Savior. But at some point Rinhart said, "God that the maximum" and God said, "No I don't have a maxium." And how this man has gone into countries that have been closed to him but saught the Lord and it took 9 years but He got in and 2 million people came to the Lord.

It encouraged me tremedously and I thought, "Man, I am privileged to know this guy , Junio. I am the teacher yet he encourages me pretty much every time we meet. It spoke to me, "Am I runny scared away from the moutnain, or am I willing to go up?" But going up is not easy, you have to put the work in. It's a hike. Intamacy takes you putting the time in.

I can relate to Paul more and more as I am here. Where he writes in the Bible I long to see you, and thank you for your prayers, and I am thankful for you every time I think about you. Man those statements are so true. And when He says to the Philipians (I think) thank you for being the first to take care of my needs. To walk to make sure I was fed while in prison. Or those who gave without being asked. I reiterate those sentiments every time I get to speak with someone from home. But want to say to you all thank you for your support in prayers, encouragement, and financial gifts. They are all such a blessing to me and all equally important. Please know if you would like to join in on these I would love it. I will continue to search for the right words to express my gratitude, yet I have suspicions that I may never find sufficient words for my gratitude.

Praying for my friend (picture at right) at the congresso. So what is the congresso? Congresso is a three day evangelistic outreach that tons of people come to. 1,000 people came forward every night (estimated). They have speakers, worship times, prayer warriors, dramas, dance teams. It was great. And worth every person's hard work. Two of our friends were in the drama, one was an arch angle and the other was Jesus. It made me giggle. They did a great job. The stadium packed out every night I think. It was so awesome to watch people come to a realization and meet their Lord and Savior. What a privillage. The Brazilians spur me on, they are passionate about God. It is so great to see.

There are a few more photos grouped in Baptisim. So awesome to see disciplers dunking their disciples. hehe. The fruit of their labor that God has grown. Or me with my old cell groups. Yet to have any photos with the new group.

The girls and I. They are so sweet here. I was at church yesterday watching as people came forward at the alter call wondering, "Haven't we run out of people." But nope. It really struck me how people are open to the Lord here.

We had a cultural fair come to town and it was a great chance to hang out with this great Brazilian family who showed us around. I have really been trying to get to know the girls you see here. Gleasia and Marcia and they usual have one more, Hyleli (don't ask if I spelled those right). But they are a part of an original cell group led by Jen and Jo (pink and blue shirts). But they have multiplied and so many times they are all leading their own cell groups. This is the vision of PAZ. Cell groups, discipleship... the whole world.

A huge 3 day conference, last year I think 1470 people came to the Lord in those three days. I am pumped to see it. Especially in contrast to coming out of a city that that is preparing to have a festival that is the opposite. But here we are celebrating the LORD. Gosh, y'all can pray for me, there are so many things going on, so many things I would love to share with you. I need the Lord to help me gather my thoughts. May you be blessed by the Lord.

Salvation in Parintins

SO I am still in Parintins. Man, it is tough here. We are doing prayer walks at 5 AM. Yikes. Yeah, that early morning stuff is not my style. But you have to count the cost right? Change for this city is worth more than sleep. At 5am I may answer differently, but in my right mind I know it is good to sacrifice for the Lord. So we get up, pull ourselves out of bed, march and pray. We walk around the stadium where a big festival happens. Along the walls of the stadium are well done relief sculptures. As an aritist I can say wow and give props, but as a Christian they make me sick. They tell of myths and the old beliefs that are held here. The
pictures I hope to take for you will speak of the intesity.
We hear rummors of how bad it is here and we have had little tastes of it. Here is an example of what is going: We met with a girl last night after a prayer meeting at church. She wanted some advice, she has a discipler who out of town. Also, I'm sure we seem all wise and knowing since we have been preaching and hanging out with the youth here. Anyways, it really opened up my eyes to what girls go through here. I will share bits of her story. She has been "groped" (the word she used) when she was nine by a guy that must have used to been a part of the church. Then I think it happened again rencently by her own brother. Along with other things. She is twelve now. But looks fifteen. It crazy. She was asking us advise on this boy she likes. I was still like, "What the heck, your tweleve. You don' t need to date." He is ninteen. So the three of us definalty gave her many words such as focus on the Lord, you have all the time in the world. Obey your spiritual authority and your parents' authority, you need that covering. I think we definalty had an impact. It was awsome for me to be there, I felt privillaged. My heart gets excited about siutations like that. Not that I want things like this to happen, but I love to talk with people and help them walk in a upright way. Not saying I have all the answers, but the guidence from someone older is always appreicated.

A few more cool things. A guy we prayed over on Friday night was healed! He used to be in a gang and had messed up his ribcage, collar bone, and neck. So Crystal and I prayed for him. Then I asked him, "Does it feel any better?" He said a little. I said, "Well, lets pray agian." So we did I asked againhe said alittle bit better so I said okay again. we pryaed a third time and this time we prayed over his neck. He started bending his head back and forth and said, "Wow! I have not been able to ever do that!" He said the pain in his chect was gone, like his bones moved or something. I was so excited. SO EXCTED. The next night it was youth night. I had the idea to open it up take the chairs out and let the youth have fun with praise and worship time. Then one of us spoke from the team and then we did a very powerful skit. I was the director, I will post it later (but if you are looking for me I am not there, haha). Sorry. They did an awesome job. So this guy was there and he said, "I have never been to church and I am really liking it." So I was praying along with friends throughout the service. Well, at the end he came up to recive salvation and so did another guy. I am so pumped to know we are having an effect in this tough city. The next night another young girl came to Christ.
I felt I needed to share some good stories with you. Well, we have to run.
I have found many new roles to fill and ways to help out while on this trip. Examples: taking care of everyone physically (don't tell them I am not a doc), helping organinze food for the team and just helping remember what is going on. I am actually loveing the fact that I can be a help. :)
