An Ah Haaahhhh Moment

"Are you working with human trafficking?"
"No, I work with kids, young girls and such, trying to help them and speak into their life's" I said.
"Then you are doing it! You are doing one of the major things that helps in prevention." "So you do work with it."

You see...We were invited to speak about sustainably at a conference focused on human trafficking. We were able to give many examples and share our experiences with people. We learned a lot about trafficking just by our conversations that afternoon.

it was eye opening to me.... We always think we don't have anything to do with trafficking but in reality, we are involved in helping people not be trafficked. We felt encouraged, and then motivated to figure out more ways that we could help in what we are already doing.

Our country is actually one where trafficked girls seemed to be common, but it is all underground so we are not overly aware of how we can help.
Recently we had a guest here who works in a western European country helping rescues girls. they said, 80% of their girls were from our country! 80%!!!
We pray we can learn how to be more effective in this fight to respect life and not sell human beings into slavery.
An ah hah moment for today. We are already apart!  Sharing a bit of today with you. Grace to you.

I've got a bee in my bonnet

Bee-keeping is getting me all hyped up.  The possibilities!!!
I believe one of the best things we can do is train and equip locals with practical skills that will make a long-lasting difference in their lives. Not only does training pass on skills and knowledge, but it provides a platform for relationship and discipleship. There is an event planned for this spring, but I need some help from you to make them possible! One is the Beekeeping course.  Are you always wishing you could do something practical? This is your opportunity to exercise, and even pass on, your FAITH.
We are hosting a Beekeeping Course, starting at the end of March. It is something new for us as a group and we are unbelievably excited about it! A Ph.D. student from UGA's Honey Bee Program will be joining us here to teach a 6-week course about beekeeping.

The goal is to equip individuals and foundations with a source of nutrition and income. People from the local children's homes and other disadvantaged people to whom we minister will be attending. Those who complete the course will receive bees, bee hives, and the equipment needed to begin using their new skill to create income.

This could be a huge turning point for many here; that possibility alone gets me excited!  By FAITH, we are partnering with God to cultivate possibility. In western countries, possibility is a word with which we are familiar, but that sentiment or fact is just not the case here. Instead of accepting status-quo, we want to be cultivators.

Give a man some honey or teach a man to keep bees...

We need to raise at least $1500 to cover the cost of interpretation and supplies for the disadvantaged students. This training opportunity is specifically for those who would not normally be able to afford or attend a course like this. With a few other YWAM staff, we will be students in the course as well, for the purpose of continued discipleship and follow-up with those who complete the course--not to mention that we have been wanting to learn this skill ourselves!

Even if you give little or feel it is little, the gifts add up!
By FAITH, we need your help to get these people going!

*Any donations received above what we need for this training event will be reserved and used for other events or projects of like kind. Essentially, there is no such thing as too much.

Below you will find a button for the event,
